In today’s world health is not given as much importance as it deserves. There are a lot of men who focus on a lot of things but give little or no importance to their health. And this is very bad because you should be healthy in order to be successful in any area of your life. You should have health goals regarding your body and dedicate a little portion of every day into achieving that goal. Regretting after you fall ill never helps.

  1. Hygienic habits – As boys, we tend to pay very little attention to our environment and how hygienic it is. However, it is important to get over this and create a clean environment for ourselves. If it is your study table, keep it clean. Make sure that your floor is clean. Make sure that your vessels and fridge is clean. Make sure you wash your hands before eating.
  2. Nutrition – This is one of the most important things when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. Eating nutritious food is very important but sadly people tend to deviate from this a lot and as a result end up becoming obese or having diabetes. Vegetables and fruits are necessary for the body and it is essential that you have them regularly. Keep your calorie intake in check and make sure you are burning them as well.
  3. Exercise – Exercising is something that not only improves your physical health but also increases your will power and self-confidence. However the only problem is that the true benefits of exercising can be seen only after a lot of hard work and because of this, a lot of men simply quit. Though exercising does not give you any instant gratification, instead gives you pain in the moment, the long term benefits of daily exercise are astounding. Just realize that every time you exercise you have probably avoided diabetes or a heart attack or man breasts 15 years from you.
  4. Keep your negative habits in check – I recommend that you do everything you can to get rid of your negative habits, but if that is not possible according to you, at least make sure that you are doing everything you can to keep them in check. Habits like alcohol and drug abuse and smoking are exceedingly destructive and will cause enormous health problems in the future. Probably today you cannot comprehend what it means to have lung cancer or liver cirrhosis and be threatened by death but it is definitely not a position you want to be in just because you were not able to control yourself.

Work Life – Your work is an important part of your life and gives you purpose, motivation, satisfaction and success. However, a lot of times it becomes stressful and you tend to carry it around on your shoulders. Work is important but not at the cost of your health and if you are facing too much stress and sometimes depression as a result, it is important to seek help. Mental health is as important as physical health.
